SWFL Baseball 2024 Summer Showcase / TRYOUTS – Jan 14th Island Coast HS

When: Sunday January 14, 2024 – REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED

Where:

We are going to relocate the Showcase and break it into 2 sections. 

1 – Pitchers and Catchers will report to an indoor facility at 9am.

Ø  SWFL Baseball Academy/Crystal Clear Water – 4940 Bayline Dr North Ft. Myers 33917

2 – OF and IF will report to Florida Southwestern State College (FSW) at 12 noon for check in.

FSW: 13301 FSW Pkwy Ft. Myers, FL 33919 – Please park in Lot 8 (outside of RF) when getting to the ballpark. Please do not park behind the dorms as that is for full-time students.

Everyone who registered should have received an email with all the information.

The SWFL organization is Nationally ranked and recognized as one of the top travel programs in the country. SWFL plays in the top tournaments around the state of Florida, travels to national tournaments, plays 2-year schools during the fall and holds private camps at D1 schools for the SWFL organization throughout the year. Recent commits from the SWFL program include Florida Gulf Coast, Alabama, Florida State, U Florida, Flagler College, Barry U, Florida Southern, U Tampa, Lipscomb U, Maryville U and many 2-year college – JUCO programs. The SWFL Baseball organization assists, promotes, and actively pursues college baseball opportunities for all players that have the skill level, academics, and desire to play college baseball. College recruitment and placement is a part of the SWFL player fees.

 The SWFL Baseball Showcase, and tryouts for uncommitted seniors and 2025 – 2028 classes will have at least 5-6 College Coaches in attendance from the D2, NAIA and JUCO levels. The College Coaches will be providing instruction on pitching, hitting, and fielding throughout the Showcase portion. This will be an outstanding opportunity to meet and interact with college coaches. The Showcase will also feature 60-yard dash, BP, along with a defensive segment. The Pitcher/Catcher Showcase is a good end to a great day with pitchers and catchers getting their velocity, pop times and velocity to 2B recordings. SWFL Baseball is looking to add top quality players who want to be successful, be recruited and be a part of a first-class organization. All baseball players are welcome to attend.

All participants must register below and  registration will close for the SWFL try-outs on Friday January 12 at noon.

8:40 – stretch and flex

9:00 – 60-yard dash

9:20 – Instructional segment – College coach instruction –

10am – Batting practice

11:15 – Defensive segment – I/O

  • Release position/hitter only players after defensive segment.

12 noon – Lunch break – provided for Pitcher/Catcher Showcase participants and coaches.

12:45 – Pitcher – Catcher Showcase

  • Radar gun readings and pop times/velocity will be provided.
