SWFL Baseball 11u-13u Tryouts
Southwest Florida Baseball is proud to announce that they will be starting youth age 11U, 12U, and 13U teams in January of 2022! Founded in 1998, SWFL has assisted hundreds of local student-athletes obtain their dream of playing college or professional baseball. A Nationally recognized travel baseball organization, SWFL has won numerous tournaments and assisted the local community for over 23 years. With the addition of SWFL Baseball Youth the SWFL organization will bring the same passion and dedication to the younger age groups that it has for the last 23 years to the HS level.

The SWFL organization prides itself on having a knowledgeable, engaging, and professional staff. The SWFL Baseball Youth program will be dedicated to improving player skill, knowledge, and advancement. The SWFL Baseball Youth staff features men who have been involved with baseball for most of their adult lives and are dedicated to youth baseball.
Brian Porvaznik – Coordinator – Brian has been a part of travel baseball for the last 20 years. Brian started his career in Cannonsburg, PA with the American Legion summer program. For the last 6 years, he has been with Island Coast HS. Brian has been a part of SWFL Baseball working with all age groups and is the Head Coach for the highly successful 18U summer program.
Carlos Perea – Has been in the SWFL organization as a Coach since 2013 working with numerous teams and assisting players in all facets of the game. Carlos is a local entrepreneur who loves the game. Signed as a shortstop out of Puerto Rico in 1998, “Los” enjoys working with infielders and connecting with all players. Carlos guided the 2022 team to a 36-4 record, 2 Championships over the summer and a pool Champion and first round of playoffs at the most recent WWBA in Jupiter.
Derrik Lutz – Drafted out of George Washington U in 2006 as a right-handed pitcher, Derrik enjoyed 6 minor league seasons reaching AA baseball. Upon his retirement, Derrik went into the transportation business and travel baseball assisting with the Mid-State Mavericks. Over the last 5 years, Derrik has won more than 200 games, winning tournaments all along the Eastern seaboard.
Adam Piatt – 1994 Bishop Verot graduate, drafted in the 10th round (NYM) out of High School but elected to attend Mississippi State. Adam was drafted again in 1997 in the 8th round by the Oakland A’s. TOPPS Minor League player of the year in 1999 before making his Major League debut in 2000 with Oakland. Adam went on to spend 4 years at the ML level. Adam brings a wealth of knowledge and energy to the SWFL organization.
Casey Scott – Current Head Baseball Coach at Bishop Verot HS. Casey has been a coach at the collegiate level – Ave Maria 2014-2017 and SUNY-Cortland 2010-13 and 2018-19 seasons. Coach Casey was also named NYCBL Coach of the Year after leading the Syracuse Chiefs to the New York Collegiate Baseball League Championship. Scott is also on the USA Baseball Athlete Development Program coaching staff with the 13U/14U team.
